Relax and unplug for two nights at Blythewood Plantation located in Amite, Louisiana. Visit this historic mansion surrounded by shady oak trees and a beautiful camellia garden. Wake up to a full breakfast served each morning and a welcome package of champagne, fresh flowers and chocolates. Also included , is an historic tour of the home which has been placed on the Nat’l Register of Historical Places. Blythewood was never a slave plantation. During the Spanish rule, 3000 acres of land was granted to Raleigh Self on which the original Blythewood was built, and became a working cotton plantation. The home was burned and in 1885 Daniel Hardy Sanders rebuilt Blythewood in all of its original splendor! It took 3 years to complete this 18-room Colonial Revival Style Mansion!
